Steel Ladle Nozzle Bricks are designed for the demanding flow-control requirements of modern steelmaking and continuous casting operations. As a functional refractory component of the steel ladle outlet system, the nozzle brick provides a stable passage for molten steel while resisting severe thermal, chemical and mechanical attack.
The nozzle is subjected to rapid temperature changes during ladle preheating, steel tapping and casting. At the same time, molten steel and slag continuously attack the refractory bore. Therefore, a reliable nozzle brick must combine thermal shock resistance, corrosion resistance, erosion resistance and sufficient mechanical strength.
We manufacture Upper Nozzle Bricks and Lower Nozzle Bricks using carefully selected refractory materials and controlled production processes. Material grades can be optimized according to steel grade, casting temperature, slag characteristics, casting sequence and service requirements.
The products can be supplied in standard or customized dimensions, with precision machining available according to customer drawings.

FAQ
1.What materials are used for steel ladle nozzle bricks?
Common materials include high-alumina and alumina-carbon refractory compositions, while zirconia-containing materials may be used for specific high-wear or demanding applications. The appropriate material is selected according to steel grade, casting temperature, slag conditions and required service life.
2.How do I choose the right ladle nozzle brick?
The selection depends on several factors, including ladle capacity, steel grade, casting temperature, slag characteristics, casting sequence, slide gate system and expected service life. Luming can recommend a suitable refractory grade and design based on your operating conditions.
3.Can the nozzle brick be used with different slide gate systems?
Yes. Nozzle bricks can be manufactured to match different slide gate assemblies and refractory configurations. Customers can provide the slide gate model, drawings or existing nozzle dimensions so that the product can be accurately matched.
4.What are the main causes of premature nozzle brick failure?
Common causes include molten steel erosion, slag corrosion, thermal shock, mechanical damage, excessive flow velocity and improper installation. Selecting the correct material grade and maintaining accurate installation dimensions can help improve nozzle service life.
5.Do you supply the complete ladle flow-control refractory system?
Yes. In addition to steel ladle nozzle bricks, Luming can supply related refractory components such as well blocks and slide gate plates. These components can be selected according to the ladle design and casting system.
6.What is the difference between an upper nozzle brick and a lower nozzle brick?
The upper nozzle brick is installed above the slide gate system and connects the ladle outlet with the flow-control assembly. The lower nozzle brick is installed below the slide gate plates and guides molten steel toward the outlet. Both are designed for high-temperature molten steel service but may require different material formulations depending on their working conditions.
