Features of Tank Opening Brick

Strength and Durability

Bricks should be sound, compact, and free from flaws like cracks or air bubbles.

01

Water Absorption

Bricks should have low water absorption, absorbing no more than 20% of their weight after 24 hours of immersion.

02

Bonding

Perforated engineering bricks provide enhanced bonding strength due to mortar filling the holes.

03

Shape

While tanks can be various shapes (circular, rectangular), circular tanks provide more even pressure distribution.

04

Porosity

Plain brickwork is porous and needs waterproofing with a cement-sand mix, bitumen coating, or other admixtures.

Process of Tank Opening Brick

Clean the Walls: Use a wire brush to remove any dust or loose material from the brick surfaces.

Fill Cracks and Holes: Apply a mortar mix to fill any large holes and fine cracks in the brickwork.

Allow Mortar to Dry: Let the filled areas dry completely, typically for a few days.

Apply PVA: Once the mortar is dry, apply a diluted coat of PVA adhesive to the walls to help tighten the surface.

Pre-Wetting: Before applying the actual waterproofing product, the wall must be pre-wetted to ensure proper adhesion.

Applications Of Tank Opening Brick

Ladles

Used At The Ladle Rim To Resist Erosion From Slag And Molten Steel, Preventing Brick Detachment During Slag Pouring.

Magnesium Reduction Furnaces

Magnesium Retort Sealing Arch Brick, Support Bricks, And Base Bricks Are Used At The Furnace Mouth To Withstand High Temperatures And Chemical Erosion.

Converters And Electric Furnaces

Tapping Port Bricks Control Molten Steel Flow, Requiring High Strength And Scour Resistance.

Iron Water Tanks

Used In Iron Water Transport, Preventing Slag Buildup, Iron Freezing, Or Brick Cracking. Alumina-Silicon Carbide-Carbon Bricks Improve Thermal Shock Resistance And Service Life.

》 All delivered goods are packaged in strict compliance with the buyer's requirements as well as relevant national and industry standards.

》Shaped products such as refractory bricks and precast blocks are typically packaged on wooden pallets, wrapped with stretch film for sealing, and secured with plastic-steel strapping.

》Unshaped refractory materials are packaged in 25-50kg plastic bags, with additional outer protection using bulk bags.

》Our company provides customized packaging solutions including containers, wooden cases, metal boxes, and moisture-proof marine packaging, fully compliant with both local regulations and corporate requirements in your market.

FAQ

Q: What are the structural advantages of brick bases?

A: Structural capability
Both clay and concrete brickwork walls can readily support relatively high loads, such as suspended concrete slabs. Clay brickwork is commonly used in construction of up to 4 storeys and with suitable detailing can be used for loadbearing walls in much higher buildings.

Q: What's the point of fire bricks?

A: Liners, also often referred to as Fire Bricks are used to insulate the fire chamber from the stove body in order to maximise combustion efficiency. Liners have the appearance of a low grade wood like MDF, but are actually made from Vermiculite.

Q: Can you cut vermiculite fire bricks?

A: Increase the efficiency and lifespan of your stove with Vermiculite Stove Bricks. Cut to size in four thicknesses - 15, 20, 25, and 30mm thick. These bricks provide superior insulation, protecting your stove from heat damage and reducing heat loss.

Q: Do fire bricks go on the bottom?

A: The bottom is the most important spot to have fire brick. The coals sitting on the metal will degrade and weaken it so fast. If you only had enough fire brick to do either both sides OR the bottom, I'd recommend the bottom.

Q: Can fire bricks get wet?

A: Yes, firebricks can get wet and are even meant to be wet during installation, but they are not designed for continuous exposure to moisture, as they are porous and can absorb significant amounts of water. Prolonged wetness or exposure to freezing temperatures can cause them to freeze, expand, and crack. If a firebrick structure gets wet from rain, you can dry it out with a series of low-temperature fires.
