We have world-leading production equipment and strong manufacturing capabilities. Please feel free to buy premium fused corundum brick at competitive price from our factory.
Fused Corundum Brick is high-grade refractory materials made primarily from high-purity alumina (Al₂O₃ ≥ 98%). They are produced by melting raw materials in an electric arc furnace (above 2000°C), followed by casting or pressing into shape and annealing. These bricks are characterized by their dense crystal structure, high mechanical strength, exceptional high-temperature resistance (≥1800°C), and strong resistance to corrosion (especially against acids, alkalis, and molten metals). They are widely used in high-temperature zones of glass furnaces, metallurgical industries, chemical kilns, and ceramic production. The main features of fused cast alumina bricks include high purity, high density, low porosity, and excellent thermal shock resistance. Due to the electric melting manufacturing process, they have a dense crystal structure and uniform chemical composition, with good resistance to slag corrosion. The product surface is smooth with high dimensional accuracy, meeting precision masonry requirements.
Production Process
The production of electrofused corundum brick involves the following key steps:
1.Raw Material Selection: High-purity alumina, tabular corundum, or zirconia is chosen to ensure stable chemical composition.
2.Electrofusion: Raw materials are melted at high temperatures in an electric arc
3.Furnace to form a uniform melt.
4.Casting: The molten material is poured into pre-prepared molds, with controlled 5.cooling to form a dense crystalline structure.
6.Annealing: Slow cooling in an insulation box reduces internal stress and prevents cracking.
7.Processing and Testing: The bricks are cut, polished, and subjected to physicochemical testing to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

Characteristics of High-Alumina Corundum Brick
High Density
The electro-fused casting process results in an extremely dense internal structure with very low porosity, significantly enhancing their permeability and corrosion resistance.Bulk density generally ≥3.0 g/cm³, with low apparent porosity (≤20%), providing strong resistance to penetration.
01
High Strength
They possess high strength at both room and high temperatures, capable of withstanding significant mechanical stress.Compressive strength ≥50 MPa, with a softening point under load ≥1700℃, suitable for environments above 1600℃.
02
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
They exhibit good resistance to corrosion from molten glass, metal melts, and slag, particularly outstanding at high temperatures.
03
Good Thermal Shock Resistance
Moderate thermal expansion coefficient and good thermal shock resistance, ideal for complex thermal conditions.
04
High-Temperature Stability
They maintain their shape and performance even at extremely high temperatures.
05
High Purity
Alumina content typically ≥98.5%, with minimal impurities (e.g., SiO₂, Fe₂O₃), ensuring excellent chemical stability.
06
Low Porosity
The fused process creates a closed-pore structure, significantly enhancing resistance to penetration.
07
Customizability
Properties can be adjusted by modifying Al₂O₃ content or adding oxides like chromium or zirconium for improved corrosion resistance.
08
Applications of Fused Cast Corundum Bricks
Due to their superior performance, Tabular Alumina Brick are widely used in the following areas:
Glass Furnaces
Is a key lining brick for areas such as the sidewalls, bottom, breast walls, and throat of glass furnaces, with excellent resistance to molten glass erosion.
Non-Ferrous Metal Smelting Furnaces
Used as furnace linings in copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, and other non-ferrous metal smelting furnaces, offering good resistance to slag corrosion.
Petrochemical Industry
Suitable for gasification furnaces, ammonia synthesis converters, and other high-temperature, high-pressure equipment.
Waste Incinerators
Resist corrosion from high-temperature corrosive gases and molten slag.
Metallurgical Industry
Applied in electric furnace linings, ladles, RH degasser vessels, and other high-temperature components.
