High Refractoriness and refractoriness under load:
Refractoriness typically above 1790℃ and refractoriness under load above 1650℃. This ensures structural stability and resistance to deformation in ultra-high temperature conditions.
Good High-Temperature Strength and Creep Resistance:
The tight crystalline structure of corundum and mullite at high temperatures gives the bricks high compressive strength (typically >100 MPa) and creep resistance, allowing them to withstand the heavy loads of materials and their own structure inside the furnace.
Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance:
Mullite's low thermal expansion coefficient (approximately 4.5–5.5×10⁻⁶/°C) ensures the brick resists cracking in rapid temperature changes.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance:
Both corundum and mullite have excellent chemical stability, effectively resisting corrosion from acidic slag, alkaline slag, and various high-temperature gases. This is crucial for industrial furnaces that are in long-term contact with corrosive media.
Low Porosity and High Bulk Density:
The cast molding process results in a denser brick structure with low porosity. This not only increases strength but also reduces the penetration of molten materials and gases, further enhancing corrosion resistance.
Low Thermal Conductivity:
Mullite's low thermal conductivity (approximately 1.5–2.5 W/m·K) provides some insulation, reducing heat loss.
